Trial date set into alleged murder of Matthew Boorman near Tewkesbury

A man charged with murdering his neighbour in a series of stabbings near Tewkesbury faces trial next year.

Can Arslan, 51, of Snowdonia Road in Walton Cardiff, Tewkesbury, is accused of murdering 43-year-old Matthew Boorman last month.

Arslan was also charged with attempted murder, one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of affray.

The case was mentioned at a plea and trial preparation hearing at Bristol Crown Court today. (November 12, 2021)

Arslan, who is remanded in custody, did not attend due to illness.

Judge Martin Picton adjourned the case for mention on January 14 next year.

A trial has been pencilled in for April 4.
