Royal Mail apologises for delays ahead of Christmas

The Royal Mail has apologised for the delays

ROYAL Mail has confirmed that they’re experiencing ‘resourcing issues’ and have apologised to customers for any delays.

Some residents of Carlisle say they are are only receiving post every other day.

One man, who didn’t wish to be named, said: “I don’t understand why this is happening and we should have been made aware of this.”

A Royal Mail spokesman said: “We apologise to customers for any delays they may have experienced in some parts of Carlisle.

“In the local area, we are currently experiencing some resourcing issues which we are addressing as quickly as possible.

“We expect our service levels to return to normal from the start of next week.”

The worry for residents comes as the company approaches one of the busiest time of year for them.

Royal Mail has now issued the times for Christmas deliveries and the man is worried they wont be able to keep up.

Royal Mail’s Parcel Collect service is a convenient way to send parcels or returns this Christmas. With this service, postmen and postwomen collect parcels and returns from customers while they carry out their daily round.

Royal Mail is encouraging customers to order their online gifts and shopping well in advance, and to post their festive greetings early, to help its postmen and women deliver the bumper festive mailbag.
