Cleaning: Mrs Hinch fans share cheap ways to unblock bath & sink drains

Cleaning star Mrs Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, garnered popularity after sharing her cleaning tips and recommendations on social media and TV. The cleaning enthusiast has managed to gain over 4.1 million followers on Instagram. Now, fans of hers have created their own social media groups dedicated to cleaning and tidying tips.

On one of these groups, with more than 100,000 members, one woman wanted to know how to unblock her bath.

Hannah Grindley wrote: “What can I use to unblock my bath? It’s not completely blocked but the water doesn’t go straight down the drain if we have a shower/bath?”

Unblocking a drain can be a horrid task but it is one that’s needed if the water doesn’t go down the bath or sink plughole.

Luckily, other Mrs Hinch fans had plenty of tips to offer Hannah.

The tips that stood out involved using natural methods.

These are better for the environment and are much cheaper than buying chemical products from the supermarket.

Natural products are also often household items already found in your cupboard at home.

Facebook user Coote Meg wrote: “I use a bottle of full fat coke. Leave overnight. It works great.”

DON’T MISS:

Linda Sharkie commented: “Pour soda crystals and white vinegar down plug. Leave 30 mins. Pour boiling water down plug, should clear any blockage. I recommend you do this every month.”

Christine Lillicrap said: “Try bicarbonate and white vinegar, then flush with kettle of boiling water.”

Debbie Sykes also recommended baking soda. She said: “Bicarb and white vinegar.”

This mixture is very popular and can be used while doing multiple cleaning tasks around the house.

Nicole Marie added: “Buster.”

Others advised opting for more unconventional methods.

Jan McClean wrote: “I stuck one of those long skinny bottle brush things down mine. Give it a few twists and bring it up. It’s gross but really effective.”

Tonya Turbill said: “Cable tie, cut slits each side then wiggle it in the plug hole to remove the hair.”
