Will there be a White Christmas in St Helens? Met Office forecast for Christmas 2021

In November St Helens saw some snow flurries with the arrival of Storms Arwen and Barra.

The Met Office has said there could be some towards the end of the week leading up to Christmas.

The Met Office defines a white Christmas by one snowflake seen falling in the 24 hours of December 25 somewhere in the UK.

Here is the Met Office forecast for the week leading up to Christmas.

December 20 – December 29 forecast from the Met Office in St Helens:

At the start of the week, it will be settled and mostly dry with large amounts of cloud.

There could be the odd spot of drizzle at times.

Cloud will reduce throughout the week and there could be an increase in the risk of overnight fog and frost, which may be slow to clear making it icy in some areas.

Towards the middle of the week, the weather will be more unsettled and windier.

The Met Office has said there could be snow in some areas as we move towards Christmas.

Temperatures will remain mainly normal, with a chill in those places with fog.
