When will Royal Mail be making collections and deliveries between now and January 4

The time between Christmas and New Year is an odd one, people don’t know what day of the week it is and a lot of people are still off work.

This year is made even more confusing with a four-day weekend because Christmas and Boxing Day fell on Saturday and Sunday.

Due to this, Royal Mail won’t be making deliveries or collections today (December 27) or tomorrow (December 28).

However, everything will be back to normal on Wednesday (December 29) and there will be collections and deliveries on Thursday, December 30, too, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Come New Year’s Eve (December 31), there will be usual deliveries and early collections.

There’ll be no post delivered or collected on New Year’s Day (Saturday, January 1, 2022), Sunday, January 2 or Monday, January 3.

All postal services return to normal on January 4 – except for Scotland, as it’s a public holiday.

While postal staff are obviously entitled to a well-earned break, there not being any post can be worrying for some who have ordered lateral flow tests to check for Covid.

If you need a lateral flow test more urgently, you can collect these locally across Lancashire from pharmacies and you can check where to pick them up from on the NHS website.

Before you pick up tests from a collection point or pharmacy, you will need to get a collection code from Gov.uk

You can also get a collect code by calling 119 (free from landlines and mobiles), with lines open from 7am to 11pm.

You can order a maximum of one pack per day through the website for home delivery, but you can order up to two packs from some community collection points.
