‘Absolute disgrace!’ Royal Mail warns customers of today’s delays, which will affect 90 postcodes.
ROYAL MAIL is experiencing delays in 90 postcodes; here is the complete list of affected areas.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, which is causing staff shortages, as well as the overwhelming demand for the service around Christmas, Royal Mail has been experiencing a series of delays over the last few weeks.
As a result, customers across the country are experiencing delays in receiving their mail and packages.
The 90 areas currently impacted are listed below.
The Royal Mail transports mail by air, rail, and road.
The network transports letters and parcels from distribution hubs, mail processing centers, and delivery offices across the United Kingdom.
Royal Mail’s air network ran on schedule over the weekend as of today, Monday, January 10th.
The rail system, as well as the road and mail systems, all failed.
In terms of deliveries, Royal Mail stated that “most of the country is operating as normal today.”
“We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for six days a week,” the website says.
“Due to local issues such as Covid-related self isolation, high levels of sick leave, resourcing, or other local factors, this may be temporarily unavailable in a small number of local offices.”
“In those cases, we’ll rotate deliveries to reduce individual customer delays.”
“We also provide targeted support to those offices in order to address their issues and return our service to the high standard our customers expect.”
The Royal Mail service has been disrupted in several postcodes.
“We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience,” the postal service said.
