Royal Mail: Britons continued disappointed with Royal Mail delays – affected postcodes

Royal Mail is always extremely busy, but is experiencing particularly tough times as of recent. They have announced 74 postcodes that are currently most affected and experiencing delays.

As of Monday January 10, Royal Mail announced that their air, rail, road and mail centres were all “operated to schedule over the weekend”.

As for those expecting letters and parcels in the coming days, the Royal Mail website explained: “Deliveries are operating as normal across most of the country today. We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.

“In a small number of local offices this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as Covid-related self isolation, high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.”

To combat this issue, Royal Mail pledged to “rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers”, and provide “targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive”.

Royal Mail added: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. We will regularly update customers on the offices most impacted here:

@joddzie90 said: “How bad is the sorting offices in Scotland as I am still waiting for a parcel that was sent on December 29 from Glasgow area to Moray? Please don’t use the postcode excuse as it’s IV heard it too many times!!”

@caseysplaice stated:”RETURN?? they haven’t even arrived!!!! nine packages now that I’ve been waiting WEEKS for. Either you lost them ALL (incompetence) or you’re lying about how bad your deliveries are in areas (incompetence). We get one letter every 10 days. £65 of goods just missing.”

@SeaGypsy15 said: “Thanks for sending a parcel I addressed to AUSTRIA to AUSTRALIA instead. Your staff need to go to Specsavers. Please see my message, redirect my parcel to the correct country and reply ASAP please.”

Others were more forgiving.

@london_849 stated: “Hi. The comments are a bit harsh. There has been a lot of bank holidays over Christmas and new year. I assume there is a backlog. I would like my post though.”
