Updates as forensics scour Garrison Lane in Bordesley Green as murder probe launched

Police have blocked off a Birmingham road after a murder probe was launched.

Officers erected a cordon in Garrison Lane, Bordesley Green after a woman suffered ‘significant’ injuries at around 7pm on Friday night, January 28.

She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The road, just off North Holme, remains closed as police guard the scene and forensic examinations take place.

Inspector Harjit Ubhi from Birmingham West said: “This is truly a tragic incident and my heart goes out to the woman’s family”

“We know this will be a huge shock to neighbours and the local community. There will be an increase in police presence around the area to offer reassurance to people with concerns.”
