‘Wads of cash seized by cops as notes sent in post to fraudsters’ in West Bromwich

Two people have been arrested after thousands of pounds was recovered by cops in West Bromwich.

The police officers posted a warning online urging people not to send cash or cards through the post.

It comes after thousands of pounds was recovered by West Midlands Police in partnership with Royal Mail.

West Bromwich Police tweeted saying: “Please remember your bank will never call you and ask you to withdraw money / send cash or cards through the post or ask for personal sensitive information. If in doubt end the call and visit a branch if you can.

“Yesterday we arrested two people in West Brom and recovered thousands of pounds which will now be returned to the victims. Thanks to @RoyalMail for great partnership work yesterday….it was a long day.”
