Storm Eunice: Royal Mail suspends all deliveries in red warning areas – affected postcodes

Royal Mail has suspended deliveries in red warning areas due to Storm Eunice’s dangerous weather conditions.

A Royal Mail spokesman explained: “In areas for which the Met Office has issued a red warning, we have had no choice but to suspend deliveries and close our delivery offices.

“In areas covered by an amber warning, we are assessing risk based on local knowledge, and will keep services running where possible.

“We will be reviewing the situation throughout the day, while continuing to prioritise the safety of our staff and customers.”

The red warning areas on February 18, 2022, include:

East of England

  • Cambridgeshire
  • Central Bedfordshire
  • Essex
  • Hertfordshire
  • Luton
  • Southend-on-Sea
  • Suffolk
  • Thurrock

London and South East England

  • Bracknell Forest
  • Brighton and Hove
  • Buckinghamshire
  • East Sussex
  • Greater London
  • Hampshire
  • Isle of Wight
  • Kent
  • Medway
  • Oxfordshire
  • Portsmouth
  • Reading
  • Slough
  • Southampton
  • Surrey
  • West Berkshire
  • West Sussex
  • Windsor and Maidenhead
  • Wokingham

The Met Office’s prediction for the weekend is heavy rain and snow across the country.

A yellow warning has been issued for wintry showers and ice in the North of England while strong winds are expected in some southern areas of the UK.
