Pay: £13,129 to £20,063, depending on age and location
As a Vehicle Technician Apprentice, you’ll service and repair light vehicles, including petrol, diesel and electric vans, working on all the systems within the vehicle. They are phasing out our diesel and petrol vehicles in favour of electric vans and alternative fuelled trucks, all whilst equipping technicians and workshops with the tools and training to become experts in the maintenance of these vehicles.
Apprentice Vehicle Technicians learn through on-the-job training and classroom learning. We take individuals with a flair for mechanics and engineering and turn them into automotive experts.
Postperson with Driving
Pay: £10.85/hour
From scorching summer days to the depths of winter, postal workers play a vital role in delivering the mail. It’s a physically demanding job – but it’s one the nation relies on.
Here, you will: work varied part-time hours, cover periods of leave for a fixed number of routes (so you’ll need to be a bit flexible), sort the mail for your route, check your vehicle and join a colleague for your round, and spend between four and six hours delivering mail outdoors.
Royal Mail are looking for a postie who is upbeat and self-motivated. You’ll need to be happy working solo as well as part of a team. You will need to have a love of the outdoors: From rural farms to city apartments, corner shops to business parks, whatever the weather (and, this being Britain, it can get quite extreme).
That means you’ll need to be happy being out and about with a good level of fitness. There are up to six hours per day of walking, so you should relish a role that keeps you fit. The group are seeking a candidate with excellent organisation as you will need to be able to plan your round and make sure you complete all your deliveries in good time.
You will have to work under pressure as well as with the public, acting as a friendly face that people know and trust.
A full UK manual driving licence (in your current UK address) is require, with no more than six penalty points, but a clean licence is preferred.
Pay: £27,801 per annum
Royal Mail are looking for professional vehicle technicians to perform a full range of inspections, diagnoses, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers and mechanical equipment.
With a fleet of over 49,000 vehicles, meeting the challenge of maintaining Royal Mail vehicles is a real team effort. With the opportunity to work on a range of makes and models of vehicles, there couldn’t be a better time to join Royal Mail as a Vehicle Technician.
