A new Post Office branch could be set to open in a Leicestershire village following the closure of the previous counter earlier this year. Residents will have access to an extra 20 hours of services, if the new location for the branch is approved.
The previous Anstey branch closed after the premises were “withdrawn for Post Office use” in January, leaving residents without immediate access to services after the March 7 closure. But a new operator has now been appointed and an alternative location has been found.
Residents can finally say farewell to the Bradgate Road branch. Subject to consultation, locals can potentially look to the Londis in The Nook for their mail delivery and banking needs.

The new site is offering 64 hours of Post Office services to the community. This means customers would have access for an extra 20 hours a week as well as a low-screened serving point at the retail counter.
Consultation on the proposed move will close on May 26. Customers can share their views during the consultation online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 152217.
Submissions can also be made via email to comments@postoffice.co.uk, by post to Freepost YOUR COMMENTS, or by telephone 03452 66 01 15 or Textphone 03457 22 3355. In the meantime, residents have bene encouraged to use alternative branches in Barley, Croft and Groby.
