Sydney Royal Easter Show crowds return | Mandurah Mail

Nearly one million people attended the Sydney Royal Easter Show this year, with crowd levels returning to peaks not seen since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

* More than 900,000 people attended during the 12 days of the show, up from the 800,000 last year

* The figure was a return to the pre-pandemic number of 900,000 in 2019

* Just over 32,200 scones were baked by the Country Women’s Association of NSW

* 42,000 children visited the Little Hands on the Land exhibit, learning about how food gets from land to their tables

* Some 2880 exhibitors took part in the show

* There were 8240 animals on site

* 12,000 litres of milk were pumped at the Riverina Fresh Working Dairy

* Some 900kg of fleece were shorn in sheep shearing demonstrations

* Some 2600 Ag Bags were sold, raising $65,000 for the Royal Agricultural Society

* The Big Bush BBQ raised $40,000 for regional Show societies

* Some $6500 was raised at the RAS Foundation Charity Lamb Auction with proceeds going towards flood-affected showgrounds in the Northern Rivers

* A total of 14,255 ribbons and separate trophies and championships were awarded at some 1460 exhibits

* The rollercoaster completed 8000 loops, 100,000 people rode the slide and 87,000 people rode the Ferris Wheel

* About 30 tonnes of potatoes were transformed into golden chips on a stick

* Some 2700 pieces of cheese used for cheese on a stick

* Some 40,000 pieces of seaweed were used at the Sushi Hub and 2000 lemons were squeezed into fresh lemonade
