Look, I know some women find the menopause absolutely debilitating, and my heart truly goes out to them, because it must be horrendous. Apart from anything else, as women find out when they get their first period and perhaps later in pregnancy, it is shocking no longer to feel quite like yourself, almost overnight, as if the person you had been all your life had suddenly moved to another country and only sent the occasional postcard. Anything that alleviates that feeling, as well as the more unpleasant physical symptoms that can accompany it, is progress. We live in the 21st century and it is absurd that women should suffer needlessly or feel embarrassed about their suffering.
