PostNord among 400 climate friendliest European companies

PostNord has joined a list of 400 European companies that have achieved the greatest reduction in carbon intensity (greenhouse gas emissions related to revenues) between 2015 and 2020, compiled by the Financial Times.

“I am very honoured that PostNord is on this prestigious list of companies and is recognised as a climate leader,” says Annemarie Gardshol, Group CEO and President PostNord.

“This relates to our successful reduction in carbon intensity between 2015 and 2020, and we have now defined even higher science-based targets for 2030. Our Green by PostNord initiative is a key element of our transition to fossil-free transport and we are working closely with our business partners to contribute to the climate transition,” says Annemarie Gardshol.

Transport is an important way of tackling overall carbon emissions to meet the Paris Climate Goals. PostNord aims at switching to fully fossil free transport by 2030, including more than 13,000 zero emissions vehicles on Nordic roads operated by them and their partners. As part of this, all last mile deliveries will be made emission-free throughout the Nordic region by 2027.

The survey was compiled by Statista on behalf of the Financial Times. It invited several thousand European companies to submit their emissions and revenue data via a website. The statistics organisation also looked at publicly available data about around 4,000 European companies to compile the final list of 400 leading companies.
