Warrington Youth Zone receives donation from Amazon Warrington

A FANTASTIC new youth facility in Warrington has been boosted by a generous donation from one of the town’s biggest employers.

The Amazon fulfilment centre at Omega has made a £1,000 donation to Warrington Youth Zone – a purpose-built facility for the town’s young people.

The hub welcomes children and young people aged seven to 19, providing more than 20 fun and engaging activities daily, including arts, music, sports, cooking, drama and enterprise workshops.

The charity also works with adults with additional needs aged up to 25.

The donation from Amazon Warrington will go towards providing junior youth club sessions, offering young people aged seven to 12 the opportunity to take part in a enriching and positive activities.

The sessions also help to develop new friendships and learn new skills and interests, as well as enhancing self-confidence and emotional wellbeing.

James Pitt, site leader at Amazon Warrington, said: “I am pleased to see a facility like Warrington Youth Zone opening in our town.

“The last few years have been tough on young people, and this is exactly what they need to get out and about and make new friends.

“We are pleased to support Warrington Youth Zone and look forward to building a relationship with the charity.”

Dave McNicholl, CEO of Warrington Youth Zone, added: “Thank you to James and everyone at Amazon in Warrington.

“We are delighted to bring our new youth zone to the town and cannot wait to welcome local people through our doors.

“Everyone is welcome at the youth zone, and we aim to be a place young people can find someone to talk to and have their voice heard.”

The donation to Warrington Youth Zone was made as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.
