InPost to install parcel lockers in WHSmith stores

Parcel locker network providers InPost are to install indoor parcel lockers at the WHSmith stationery and convenience store chain. This will be InPost’s first indoor parcel locker proposition.

The move to install indoor parcel lockers at WHSmith comes from research that shows 64% of InPost’s customers collect and send parcels through its lockers as part of another journey.

As well as benefitting InPost, WHSmith expects to see greater footfall in its stores and to achieve greater secondary spend as customers impulse buy things they need while in the stores. This comes from the same InPost research that shows that 50% its customers go on to visit nearby shops on a run to a parcel locker, 86% of whom make a purchase.

“We are rapidly growing our network of 3,500+ parcel lockers in the UK, and our partnership with WHSmith marks another milestone for our business,” InPost UK locations director Gavin Brice said.

“At InPost, we know that people are constantly looking for convenient and hassle-free services that fit around their busy lives and save them time.

“By joining forces with WHSmith, we are providing shoppers across the country with unparalleled convenience when it comes to collecting and returning their online orders or sending parcels.”
