New home revealed for Nuneaton Royal Mail delivery office

Nuneaton Royal Mail delivery office’s new home has been revealed. The current home of the delivery office in Church Street forms part of the parcel on land that will have to pave the way for a new, almost-£20m library and offices.

It had been rumoured that the delivery office could be moving to a location in Bermuda Park. And this now appears to be true.

A planning application for new signage at land off Hazell Way shows it is for official Royal Mail livery. Also within the application documents for the signage it states: “Construction of new warehouse and distribution depot/ postal sorting office.”

The actual proposal that is seeking planning permission is not for the construction of the site but it does mention the new building. It reads: “The erection of two non-illuminated fascia signs and one entrance sign to be erected onto posts (to be erected onto warehouse/distribution centre applied for under application reference 038948).

CoventryLive has contacted Royal Mail for a comment and more information about the new facility. In the meantime, public consultation into the Vicarage Street/Church Street regeneration has now come to an end.

It was launched last month to gauge people’s views on the proposals for a new library, office space and 50 new homes.
