‘We want settlements’: Royal Mail postal workers to vote on strike action

The Communication Workers Union’s Dave Ward says “the objective of any dispute” is “never to have a strike”.

The union, which represents 115,000 postal workers at Royal Mail, will vote on whether or not workers should strike over pay.

“When you ballot your members for industrial action, it’s always because there’s been events that have taken place, negotiations, and you then ballot on them,” Mr Ward told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.

“The objective is never to have a strike.

“We want settlements.”
