FTSE set to end week higher | Business

The FTSE 100 was trading largely flat this morning but remained on course to end the week about 1.5 per cent higher after a busy week of upbeat corporate updates.

With few results this morning, the index edged up just 13 points, or 0.2 per cent, to 7,283.97, which makes it about 132 points higher than where it started on Monday.

Among the best performing blue chips was Dechra Pharmaceuticals, the FTSE 100 veterinary drugs group, which recovered 90p, or 2.5 per cent, to £37.08, having fallen back after a £180 million placing.

Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust, which has holdings in a number of US technology companies such as Nexflix and Tesla, rose 23p, or 2.7p, to 874 as it tracked Wall
