FedEx Express broke ground on its new Central and Eastern European gateway at the Cologne-Bonn Airport in Germany. The facility will be the carrier’s largest powered by solar energy and its first solar-powered hub outside the United States. Construction began Oct. 20 and will be completed in 2010.
