Collect+ sees Amazon Prime Day surge

UK pick-up/drop-off (PUDO) network Collect+ saw a 20% surge in parcel collections during the Amazon Prime Day event in mid July.

Across the more than 10,000 Collect+ stores, customers picked up a total of 49,956 parcels, a 20% increase on the 41,783 parcels collected in the seven days prior to the event on 12-13 July.

Compared to Amazon prime Day in 2021, this year saw a 13.3% increase in volumes through the Collect+ network, when customers collected 43,817 parcels.

Nick Williams, head of strategic partners and product at PayPoint, said: “Online shoppers have always been eagle eyed when it comes to online discounts and the surge in parcel deliveries during Amazon Prime Day is testament to more people than ever seeking bargains amid the rising cost of living, inflation and other economic pressures.

“It’s another reason why it’s important that online retailers consider how they can enhance the customer experience by giving shoppers the option and accessibility of picking up a parcel at an out-of-home location, of their choosing, at a time that’s convenient for them.”
