Woman rushed to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ after suspected hit-and-run in Selsey

Sussex Police is appealing for witnesses after a woman was left with “serious injuries” after being hit by a car in Selsey last week (August 9). The victim, who was crossing the B2145 in Selsey at around 10.25pm that evening, was hit by a vehicle described as being “modified and very loud” with at least three men inside.

At the time of the incident, police say the driver initially stopped and spoke to the victim, before making off from the scene at speed towards Chichester. She was later attended to by paramedics, with the road being closed in both directions.

To treat her injuries, the woman was taken to Chichester’s St Richard’s Hospital. Despite her injuries being serious, they are “not believed to be life-threatening”.
