Wallace and Gromit find themselves in yet another sticky situation – with a set of fun stamps of their adventures.
The collection features Wallace and Gromit and their pals Feathers McGraw, Shaun the Sheep, Timmy, Robin, Morph and Chas, Frank the tortoise and Rocky and Ginger.
An exclusive miniature sheet, created for Royal Mail by Aardman Animations, inventors of the characters, will also be available, and will feature moments from Wallace and Gromit films, A Matter Of Loaf And Death, The Wrong Trousers, A Close Shave and A Grand Day Out.
Royal Mail’s David Gold said: “This set of stamps will surely bring a smile to everyone’s face.”
Aardman’s Sean Clarke said: “It is a real honour to receive this royal stamp of approval.”
The stamps, on sale from October 19, still feature the Queen’s silhouette. New King Charles stamps will enter circulation once current stocks are exhausted.
In August, it was revealed millions of households only have six months left to use up any everyday stamps before they become worthless.
Royal Mail is phasing out so-called “definitive” stamps – ones that feature the Queen’s head – by the end of January 2023.
After this date, you can only use barcoded stamps with the Queen’s profile on, or non-barcoded Christmas or special collection stamps.
If you try to send mail using the old stamps beyond the deadline, you may face an extra charge.
An exchange system is now in place for those who don’t think they will be able to use the stamps before the cut off point.
Royal Mail’s “Swap Out” scheme lets you exchange the stamps for free by completing a form.
You need to use a standard form for stamps worth up to £200, or a bulk stamp form for stamps worth more than £200.
Both forms are available on the Royal Mail website where they can be printed and filled out.
