Royal Mail must pay £100,000 for ‘destroying’ whistleblower’s life | News

Royal Mail bosses should pay more than £100,000 to a former employee after they were found guilty of “destroying her life” when she made allegations of bonus fiddling.

A judge said that if the postal service had a “shred of decency” it would pay Kam Jhuti her damages swiftly given the “catastrophic” impact its treatment had on her.

An employment tribunal ruled that Jhuti, who worked in the Royal Mail’s market research unit, had been intimidated and harassed by her boss after she raised concerns that a colleague had illegitimately secured a bonus.

The “profound” effect of the bullying, which resulted in Jhuti’s dismissal, left her suffering from severe depression and post traumatic stress disorder.
