Kate Middleton promises ‘I’m not going to steal your crisps!’ in sweet video with royal fan

Royal audiences were charmed by a video showing Kate Middleton joking around with fans earlier this week. The Duchess of Cambridge was in Scarborough with her husband Prince William on Thursday to visit The Street, a community hub that helps young people with mental health, when ‘thrilled’ locals crowded to greet them.

A video posted to TikTok shows the royal making friendly chit-chat with the people gathered by a barrier before clearly spotting someone who looked a little shy. From the way, the Princess of Wales lowers herself it’s like she was playfully speaking to a child.

In the video she smiles and waves before bending down and saying “I’m not going to steal your crisps don’t worry, they look delicious though,” getting a few chuckles from the crowd. Fans flocked to the comments of the video to heap praise on Kate for her friendly and genuine public persona.

“So naturally humble. So genuine,” said one person. “Catherine is so genuine and kind,” another added.

The creator of the video also left a comment saying: “She was honestly so nice!! They both were!! The lady next to us was from Ukraine and you see they were genuinely so interested.”

People were also impressed with the fact that despite wearing high heels the Duchess was happy to walk on the muddy grass to greet fans. Kate was spotted wearing a camel-coloured overcoat over a similar coloured outfit, while William was sporting a burgundy jumper and blue shirt under a blue jacket.

Caroline Cheetham, from Scarborough, was at The Street to greet William and Kate today, told YorkshireLive: “It was wonderful to see the Royal Couple, Kate was an absolute star braving the muddy grass to greet people.”

Another person commented on a video that was shared on Facebook of the pair, they said: “They’ve not made it very walkable in heels there… I bet she wished she’d put her wellies on.”

Somebody else commented on the fact Kate needed wellies, they said: “Poor Kate needs wellies.” Another said: “Kate is a pro in heels, no problem for her.”
