As we hurtle towards Christmas shopping season is now underway. But if you want to get your presents to friends and family in time, it pays to beat the Christmas rush, especially with Royal Mail strikes coming up.
It’s wise, therefore, to send parcels in plenty of time so that they reach their intended recipients in time for Christmas Day. Royal Mail has released all the major posting dates you should be aware of in advance.

According to Royal Mail, the last postage dates before Christmas are as follows:

December 16 – Royal Mail Bulk Mail Economy

December 19 – 2nd Class, 2nd Class Signed For, Royal Mail 48

December 21 – 1st Class, 1st Class Signed For, Royal Mail 24, Royal Mail Tracked 48

December 22 – Special Delivery Guaranteed, Royal Mail Tracked 24

December 23 – Special Delivery Guaranteed with Saturday Guarantee
Royal Mail customers are advised to allow “plenty of time for posting” in the run-up to Christmas. The company recommends posting Christmas gifts “early”, particularly for overseas deliveries.
Royal Mail Tracked 24® and Royal Mail Tracked 48® are not available to purchase at Post Office® branches.
