Santa will be able to reply to children’s Christmas letters this year under a Royal Mail scheme – and it’s completely free.
Watching little ones writing letters to Santa is always a special tradition at Christmas. It makes the festive season more special for them, as well as letting their parents know what they are hoping will be under the tree.
Better yet, Royal Mail is running a free service which will see Santa send replies to the letters he receives all the way from the ‘North Pole’.

The Write to Santa scheme is now open, Echo reports. The Royal Mail Letters to Santa site says: “It’s nearly Christmas, and we know you want to make sure that your letter to Santa Claus gets to him.
“Santa is as excited about Christmas as we are — read on to find out how to write to Santa. Make sure you get your letter posted by Friday 9 December and don’t forget your stamp!”
To use the service, you need to get your little one to write a letter with their full name and address. Drop the letter into an envelope with a stamp, and send it to Santa’s ‘address’ provided by Royal Mail.
Father Christmas advises children and their parents to:
-
Write Santa’s address carefully on the envelope
-
Put a stamp on the envelope so it gets to Santa
-
Include your full name and address in your letter
Santa will even reply in Welsh if you prefer – although you need to write to a different address for that. Below are the addresses you’ll need.
For an English reply:
Santa/Father Christmas
Santa’s Grotto
Reindeerland
XM4 5HQ
Santa will begin responding to letters from November 21, with families told to expect a wait of around 10 days. In order to receive a reply from Santa, letters should be sent no later than December 9.
