Residents of Wraysbury and Horton were visited by Santa on Christmas Eve for his third annual journey around the area.
Started by a small group of friends, Santa’s journey was made possible by their hard work preparing a circular route for Santa to journey through the towns at 6pm on Christmas Eve in 2020.
Local Henry Perez said: “It started as a result of Christmas lockdown 2020, with the objective of a boost for children’s Christmas fun.
“If they could not visit Santa, Santa would visit them.”
After proving a great success the event has been repeated in 2021 and 2022.
The route and named streets were published on the towns Facebook group and for the first two years The local community radio station, Swan Radio, remained in contact with Santas vehicle, providing live updates on his location
A resident also arranged a Royal Mail box dedicated to letters for Santa, with responses guaranteed by a certain date.
When the night before Christmas came, Santa arrived in his Santamobile which drew up close to the pavement, allowing Santa to engage in banter with the children while handing them sweets, which had been donated by The Matlow Family.
One of Santa’s team said: “When covid restrictions for Christmas 2020 put the damper on everyone’s Christmas spirit, Santas drive through our two villages was a much-needed tonic for everyone.”
Comments on social media celebrated the event saying ‘Well done Father Christmas it was fun for all’, ‘Thank you so much Santa. Our boys were thrilled’.
