PLANNERS have put forward a new bid to squeeze in more flats at a housing site near the Royal Mail sorting office in Slough town centre.
Applicant Wexham Construction Ltd has submitted a new scheme to redevelop the two two-storey detached homes on 30-32 Wexham Road.
The proposed apartment block could be up to six storeys in height and could hold 27 flats, consisting of 11 one-beds, 14 two-beds, and two three-bedrooms.
Last year, Slough Borough Council approved previous plans to demolish the two homes for 18 flats.

Car parking is located at the rear of the proposed building and could hold eight spaces, including one disabled and one delivery bay.
Cycle storage is proposed internally on the ground floor level, providing 40 spaces using two-tier bike racks. All flats will either have balconies or private gardens.
The planning statement states: “The proposed development would be acceptable in land use terms, would provide an acceptable standard of accommodation for future occupiers and would not result in any loss of amenity to neighbouring occupiers.

“It will secure a high level of design quality that respects and relates to the character and context of the area, makes best use of the site and represents efficient use of land, contributes to the quality of the urban fabric and uplifts the street standard.”
