The rehabilitation of Lady Susan Hussey is slow and painstakingly discreet.

But this week it made a significant step forward when the late Queen’s former lady-in-waiting represented the Princess Royal at a memorial service in London.

Hussey, 83, “stepped aside” from the royal household after asking a charity’s black chief executive at a Buckingham Palace reception: “Where do you really come from?”

Now a senior member of the royal family has made a public display of support for Hussey by asking her for help, the Daily Mail reported.

The Times can also reveal that she has been going into Buckingham Palace on a regular basis over the last few weeks.
