Fascinating maps show second most popular language in Reading, Slough and rest of Berkshire

With more than 150 languages spoken in the county, Berkshire is home to people from all over the world. These fascinating maps from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) portray the extent of Berkshire’s multiculturalism.

The maps chart the main spoken language by residents over three years old in every one of the county’s six boroughs – Bracknell Forest, Reading, Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead, Wokingham and West Berkshire.

For each borough, we’ve picked out the five languages after English which have the highest percentage of residents speaking it as a first language. You can have a look through the data yourself on the interactive map on the ONS website here.
