Are there more Royal Mail strikes in May 2023?

Royal Mail workers in Britain who belong to the Communication Workers Union (CWU) have been striking since August 2022.

They are walking out as they want a pay rise that reflects the rising cost of living in Britain and the dispute is still ongoing in 2023.

Staff took action on some of the busiest posting dates over the Christmas period and were also due to strike on February 16.

However, the latest walkout was cancelled after Royal Mail challenged the way the strike was called – and there haven’t been any since.

Are there more Royal Mail strikes in May 2023?

No, there are no more Royal Mail strikes planned in the UK and it looks like an end could be in sight as the CWU has just accepted a pay offer.

The offer includes a pay increase for workers and positive changes to working practices – but Royal Mail staff haven’t accepted the deal yet.

Union members will enter a ballot on the offer in the coming weeks. If accepted, the dispute will be over following nine months of strikes and talks.

There might be no postal strikes but your May mail will be affected by the three bank holidays.

Royal Mail says there will be no collections or deliveries on:

Some post offices will still be open with reduced hours to drop off parcels but they won’t be collected until the following day.
