Always wanted to own your own pub? Well, now the chance is yours for the taking – one of Queensland’s oldest pubs, the Royal Mail Hotel in Goodna, is up for sale.

The hotel, which first opened in 1860, is one of the longest operating pubs in the state and has an established and loyal customer base, especially when it comes to entertainment.

According to the hotel’s website, it has been supporting live blues and roots music since 1986 and is the only venue in Australia to be officially awarded the International Keeping The Blues Alive Award from The Blues Foundation in Memphis, Tennessee in the United States.

The hotel, located at 92 Brisbane Terrace in Goodna, which was once the main highway between Ipswich and Brisbane, was one of only a handful of stopping points for the Cobb and Co coaches travelling to and from Brisbane.

The auction, to be run by Ray White Commercial Gold Coast, is set for 25 May from 11am at the Gold Coast Turf Club in Bundall.

Ray White Commercial Gold Coast commercial sales agent Justin Lowe said he believed the property was a good investment for several reasons.

“It’s a perfect opportunity to buy an established hotel with a strong customer base, there are gaming entitlements which complement various revenue generating aspects of the business and it’s located within a close proximity the Brisbane and is situated in a strong growth corridor just off Ipswich Motorway,” he told Ipswich News Today.

Boasting a large 2,991m2 site in a major growth corridor, the Royal Mail Hotel offers an established and loyal customer base, with an excellent opportunity on offer.

Situated just 10km from Springfield Central, 20km to the Ipswich CBD and 25km from the Brisbane CBD, the property offers easy access to major transport links and public transport.

Featuring a fully licensed bar, restaurant, and gaming facilities, this popular destination is also located within walking distance of the Goodna Bowls Club, Goodna Aquatic Centre, and Goodna and District Rugby League Football Club, making it an ideal destination for locals and visitors alike.
