Woman seriously injured in Three Legged Cross crash

A woman has been left seriously injured in hospital after a car crash in Dorset. The woman, in her 40s, was cut free from a white Vauxhall Corsa following the single-vehicle crash on Station Road, near to the junction with Newman’s Lane, in West Moors yesterday (May 25).

Dorset Police were called to the road, near the junction with Newman’s Lane at 3.34pm. Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended and recovered the woman, who was alone in the car.

She was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police say her next of kin have been informed.

The road was closed to allow emergency services to attend the scene and was reopened just after 8.30pm. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to get in touch.

Police Constable Kier Dagnall, of the traffic unit, said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this collision and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please contact us.

“In particular I understand there was a boy in school uniform at the scene who may have witnessed what happened and I am keen to identify this boy so we can speak to him about what he saw. Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
