Woman caught drink driving twice in less than a month banned

On April 22, 2023, at around 12.45am police observed a Mini on the Gola Road and its junction with the Lisnagole Road.

It was stationary and appeared as if someone was being left off however, there was loud revving heard by the officers.

They followed the car along Gola Road before pulling it in.

Sarah Soraghan (30), of Royal Oak Road, Lisnaskea exited the car and told police she had consumed alcohol.

She failed a preliminary breath test and while being taken into custody made a significant statement: “I’m over the limit.”

Soraghan did not add anything further but gave an evidential reading of 82mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

Then on May 17, 2023, police on patrol of the Belfast Road, Enniskillen saw the same white Mini which was swerving from side to side and breaching the white central line.

It was stopped and there was a strong smell of alcohol and Soraghan’s eyes appeared glazed.

She failed a preliminary breath test before giving an evidential reading of 84mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

Soraghan’s solicitor, Garry Smyth, said the nature of the scenario was a “troublesome one” and the charges before the court were difficult to deal with.

He said Soraghan was remorseful and co-operated fully with police adding that the conviction will have other implications for his client.

As well the three-year driving ban, Soraghan was also fined £200 for the two drink driving charges.
