Royal Mail announces postcodes affected by delays today

Royal Mail aims to deliver to all addresses it has mail for, six days a week.

However, this is not always possible due to local factors, resourcing issues, high levels of staff sickness absences or poor weather conditions.

Royal Mail listed the UK areas affected by postal delays today, apologising for any inconvenience caused to customers.

While deliveries will be operating as normal today, two postcodes have been affected by delays.

The postal service explained that in these circumstances Royal Mail will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.

It also provides targeted support to those offices to address challenges and restore services to a high standard.

Customers who need to collect an item for which Royal Mail left a ‘Something for You’ card can consult royalmail.com/services-near-you.

This provides details of Royal Mail’s Customer Service Point locations and opening hours.

Royal Mail gave an update on the movement of mail through the network, sharing that its air and rail networks operated to schedule in the past 24 hours.

As for the road network, this operated to schedule over the last 24 hours, with one exception.

Last night, on Monday June 26, road closures on the M40 and M1 delayed the arrival of a vehicle travelling to Royal Mail’s Princess Royal Distribution Centre (London).

As a result, some mail posted yesterday due for delivery today in London and the south of England may arrive later than expected.

In the Croydon mail centre, not all mail was processed or dispatched to schedule over the last 24 hours. As a result, some mail may be delivered later than planned in the BR, CR, SE and SM postcode areas.
