Heartbreak as schoolboys hurt in horror crash while ‘on way to prom in £187k Lamborghini’ | UK | News

Paramedics from the London Ambulance brigade were at the scene with London’s Air Ambulance also scrambled.

Footage shared online shows the supercar appearing to lose control before smashing into the van, scattering debris across the road.

It is believed some of those in the crash were Year 11 pupils from Stepney All Saints School, who hired the Lamborghini Urus to ferry them to their end-of-year prom.

The teens were passengers in the supercar, which was being driven by a man in his 20s.

An email from the school’s headteacher to parents, seen by the Mirror, states: “You may be aware of a car accident that took place yesterday evening involving some of our students.

“I can confirm that although there are some injuries to our students, thankfully there are no fatalities. This has been confirmed to me this morning by the Metropolitan Police.

“Prayers are with those students and their families. We wish them a speedy recovery.

“We ask any students who are distressed due to this situation to speak to their tutor in the first instance or for Year 11 students in particular, to contact school directly via their Head of Year.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed some of those involved in the crash were teenagers.

He added LAS was called at 7.23pm on Tuesday to reports of a road traffic collision in Royal Docks Road, Beckton.

The spokesman said: “We sent a large number of resources to the scene including six ambulance crews, two paramedics in fast response cars, two incident response officers and members of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).

“We also sent a Command Support Team to the scene and dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. We treated six patients at the scene. We took two of the patients to a major trauma centre and the other four to local hospitals.”

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said that there have been no arrests, adding none of those injured are believed to be in a life-threatening condition.

The Lamborghini driver was a man in his 20s, while a man in his 40s was behind the wheel of the Royal Mail van, according to the force.

Enquiries are ongoing.
