The Rolling Stones Celebrate Their 60th Anniversary With A Collection Of Stamps

The rolling rocks have always had surplus language to stick not one, but a thousand stamps. And now they can prove it. The ‘royal mail‘ of Great Britain, i.e. the UK Post Office has released a collection of 12 stamps in homage to the legendary British band

The stamp set is “a tribute to one of the most enduring rock groups of all time,” precisely when they meet 60 years on stage.

The collection is presented this Tuesday. They go on sale to the public on January 20 but can be ordered from today on the ‘Royal Mail’ website.

Eight of the twelve stamps include images of some of his most famous concerts over the years, including Hyde Park in London in 1969 to the one in East Rutherford (New Jersey) in 2019, going through his performance at the Knebworth Festival in August 1976 or the one in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in August 1995.

One pound and 70 pence, the tribute to 60 years of work

The other four stamps are presented on a miniature sheet and feature two photos of the band together and two posters from their world tours. The stamps are priced at one pound seventy pence.

All three living Rolling Stones members, Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards, They have worked with Royal Mail on the issuance of the stamps. The stamps that also include the drummer Charlie Watts, who died in August of last year.

‘Royal Mail’ assures that “few bands in the history of rock have managed to carve out a career as rich and expansive as that of the Rolling Stones” and that is why they deserve this collection.

The’The Rolling Stones’ are the fourth British music group to appear on a special issue stamp. Before it were ‘The Beatles’ in 2007, ‘Pink Floyd’ in 2016 and ‘Queen’ in 2020.

Their ‘satanic majesties’ are full of ‘Satisfaction’ at such a tribute.
