GREENSBORO, N.C. — Officials broke ground Friday morning on the site of a $100 million FedEx Ground distribution hub in Kernersville that’s expected to employ 750 workers when it opens in 2011. Two centers in Winston-Salem will be consolidated with the new, 400,000-square-foot center, which will eventually process 45,000 packages per hour after a planned expansion in 2015.
