Royal Mail shares UK areas affected by postal delays this weekend

Royal Mail aims to deliver to all addresses it has mail for, six days a week.

The postal service stated: “Weekend delivery and collection services are expected to take place on Saturday, September 30 and parcel deliveries on Sunday, October 1.”

Royal Mail confirmed that deliveries will operate as normal across the UK today.

However, in a small number of local offices delays can sometimes occur due to local issues such as high levels of sick absences, resourcing or other local factors. Extreme weather conditions can also affect postal delays.

Royal Mail ensured customers that when this happens, several measures have been put in place to restore service.

The postal service explained that deliveries are rotated to minimise delay to individual customers. Targeted support is also offered to affected offices to address their challenges.

Royal Mail added: “If you need to collect an item for which we’ve left a ‘Something for You’ card, please check https://www.royalmail.com/services-near-you#/ for details of our Customer Service Point locations and opening hours.”

Royal Mail apologised for any inconveience caused to customers and thanked them for their understanding.

Offices most impacted this weekend

  • Halstead DO (CO6 and CO9)
  • Hayle DO (TR27)
  • Teddington DO (TW11)
  • Wrington DO (BS40)
