Lack of transparency at Post Office ‘partly to blame for Horizon scandal’

Alan Cook and Adam Crozier are giving evidence to Post Office Horizon IT inquiry today.

Mr Cook is a former independent non-executive director and managing director of Post Office Ltd, and Ms Crozier is a former CEO of Royal Mail Group Ltd and former director of Royal Mail Holdings plc.

It comes after on Thursday former Post Office managing director David Smith apologised for saying that the conviction of pregnant sub-postmistress Seema Misra was “brilliant news”.

He also told the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry that an internal review of the Horizon software he commissioned was intended to gather together arguments supporting a sense of the system’s “robustness,” rather than as a “forensic” exercise to get to the root of the issues reported by sub-postmasters.
