A38 sliproads to close for 15 days near Royal Mail building

Parts of the A38 will close for 15 days from tomorrow (Monday, June 10). The A38 in the Patchway and Filton areas of South Gloucestershire will see part of the slip roads close near the Royal Mail Bristol and the B4057 Gipsy Patch Lane.

Closures will affect both sides of the A38 on Gloucester Road North and the roadworks should be completed by Tuesday, June 25. One.Network has listed the works as for concrete testing.

On the northbound side, the slip road will be closed from the Royal Mail heading towards Hayes Way, which also means that traffic from Royal Mail will be unable to turn left. Those travelling on Gloucester Road will be unable to turn right using the sliproad under the flyover to re-join the A38.

Heading southbound on the A38, the slip road starting at Gipsy Patch Lane heading on to the A38 heading towards Filton will be closed. There will also be no access via the slip road under the flyover to join the A38 heading northbound.

Access to Gipsy Patch Lane will be maintained on both sides of the A38 as the central road under the flypass will remain open for those heading north and the slip road will remain open to Gipsy Patch Lane heading south. For drivers on Gipsy Patch Lane heading to the A38, they will be unable to join the A38 on any side as the only accessible area will be the Royal Mail.

It is not the only roadworks on the A38 currently as a lane on either side of the A38 has closed near the junction with Bollingbroke Way to create a link road to the Brabazon housing development on the site of the old Filton Airport. It is expected to take up to six months.
