New Nuneaton Royal Mail delivery office is in ‘wrong location’ fume residents

The new Royal Mail delivery office in Nuneaton is in the ‘wrong location’, angry local residents have said. The old office in Justice Walk has now closed and all of the operations have moved to the new hub in Hazell Way off Bermuda Road.

This includes the office where people could go to pick up parcels they have missed. It’s new location has left some locals upset.

Royal Mail said customers would not feel any impact of the relocation of the service, but some locals claim that it is not accessible for those who rely on public transport.

One resident, who did not want to be named, contacted CoventryLive and said: “The statement from Royal Mail said says ‘no impact on customers’ when there is – elderly, those who have no transport and others who would struggle to go collect postal items. Why not put those items in town centre post office.”

Another said that it is not just an issue about location, but also access for the public at the new hub. “It’s the wrong place for the elderly to get too as buses only run hourly,” the resident said. “But there is no where to park if you did turn up in a car as the car park ranked with employees.”

CoventryLive contacted Royal Mail and a spokesperson said that there are ‘many options’ available to customer. They said that if an item cannot be delivered, if the householder is out, it can be left in a designated safe place, with a neighbour, or it will be scheduled for automatic redelivery for the next working day.

The spokesperson added that they can can arrange redelivery free to their own address, free to another address in their postcode area, or free to their local Post Office branch.
