Prince Harry’s blunt response after King Charles evicted him from Frogmore Cottage

A spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle confirmed in March 2023 that they had been instructed to evict Frogmore Cottage, their home in the UK. And Harry had a blunt retort

Harry issued an ultimatum to his father following the Frogmore eviction notice

Prince Harry issued a blunt question to King Charles after being told that he and Meghan Markle were being evicted from Frogmore Cottage.

The couple stepped down from royal duties at the start of 2020 and moved to California, where they continue to live. They had hoped to keep their UK home but in March 2023 they were instructed to move out. A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan at the time confirmed they “have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage”. The move upset Harry, who no longer has a base in his home country and he is said to have begged his father to reconsider. Writing in his new book Endgame , royal author Omid Scobie said Harry said to Charles: “You don’t want to see your grandchildren anymore?”

It’s thought that the King has only had a handful of meetings with Archie and has only met Lilibet once. And despite the royal fallout, he is keen to forge relations with the two children. There has been speculation that Charles might invite the Sussexes to Balmoral over the summer. Traditionally, the Royal Family get together to enjoy time in the Scottish Highlands, a cherished time for bonding amidst the serene beauty of Scotland .

A source told the Express: “Charles really does want to build a better relationship with Archie and Lili and spend quality time with them. So it’s possible that the Sussexes might go alone at the end of the summer just before the King returns to London, but it’s highly unlikely given the current tensions.”

Instead, in order to maintain a connection with his grandchildren, the King is likely to resort to Skype calls. The insider revealed: “The most likely option is for the King to keep in contact with his grandchildren via Skype calls so that he doesn’t lose touch with what they’re getting up to.” Since stepping back from royal duties and moving abroad, Harry and Meghan have only brought their children to the UK once, during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022.

It appears that a Balmoral reunion is off the cards for this summer, with the source stating that Harry and Meghan are not expected to join the Royal Family for the August gathering: “Harry and Meghan will not be joining the rest of the Royal Family in August. “The King is keen for it to be a happy family occasion which will see members of the Royal Family come together for just over a week to discuss plans for the future and to unwind.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton and their children, Prince George , Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are all set to enjoy some relaxing time at Balmoral in August. Their arrival is anticipated around mid-month, with a planned family-focused shooting event scheduled for August 12.
