The royal trainer gang: Kate likes £29.50 sneakers from M&S, but  Princess Charlene of Monaco prefers MUCH pricier £765 Louis Vuitton footwear

They range from the cheap and cheerful to the exclusive kind that only the wealthiest can afford.

Thanks to their versatility, white trainers have gone from being just a shoe for sport to both casual and fashion footwear – and the royals have got in on the act too.

The likes of Kate Middleton, Zara Tindall, Princess Beatrice and Queen Letizia have all shown off casual trainers for both official engagements and private outings.

As the Duchess of Cambridge, the Princess of Wales was happy to be seen in £29.50 trainers from M&S, whilst Beatrice has opted for far more expensive £660 Gucci footwear.

Princess Charlene of Monaco meanwhile has gone for the even pricier £765 Louis Vuitton trainers.

A box-fresh pair of trainers can gracefully tone down traditionally formal pieces like blazers and suits and this simple styling trick has now become a match made in royal wardrobe heaven – as we demonstrate below.

Zara Tindall
