ANALYSIS: Cargo bikes – a gimmick or a real means of driving last-mile sustainability forward?

Cargo bikes are an increasingly common site on European city streets nowadays. Recently, Amazon opened a hub in Norwich housing a fleet of new electric cargo bikes that will deliver thousands of packages per week. The company says the move will help improve air quality and alleviate congestion.

However, are cargo bikes style over substance when it comes to actually being practical, sustainable, and economically viable? Marek Rozycki and Gary Winter discuss.
