Former Cambs Post Office closed for more than a decade up for sale for £4.5million

A former historic post office and telephone exchange in Wisbech has been put on the market. The building, on Bridge Street, is listed at an asking price of £4.5 million.

The post office building is Grade II listed and reportedly dates back to 19th century. According to Historic England, it was built in 1987 and is described as “French medieval, domestic style”.

Plans have since been put in place for the building to be converted into flats, which was approved last year. These are due to be finished by December 2024.

The post office was one of a number which closed around ten years ago. Services have since been relocated to other nearby areas, with ten branches in and around the town centre.

A statement from the listing said: “This property boasts 33xo bedroom apartments and two commercial dwellings due to be finished December 2024. Each property has been refurbished to the highest standard, showcasing modern finishings and attention to detail throughout.”
