Live updates as crash shuts North Staffordshire road for hours

A crash closed a North Staffordshire road for hours. Neighbours reported the incident on Heathcote Road, in Halmerend.

It is understood that the emergency services were alerted just before midnight last night. Pictures show police cars and ambulances at the scene.

One StokeonTrentLive reader said: “One moving vehicle and two parked vehicles have been involved in a serious road traffic accident at 11.50pm with the road shut for four hours. The driver and a passenger were both taken by ambulance to hospital.”
