The crash occurred at around 3pm on Monday, October 7. Police arrived at the scene, and the cars involved in the crash were removed.

Cathy added: “It’s really hit home that none of us went to work on the day of the crash. There’s a yellow box outside the shopfront to stop anyone from parking there, but the crash still happened.”

Now determined to return to business as usual, Cathy and her team are working hard to get the salon back up and running. She said: “As soon as it happened I was wondering how long it will be to get the shop back to the standard it was.

“Everything was all handmade and everything has to be exactly the same because it is a listed building so it will take at least six months. I am confident I can reopen the back of the salon on Monday, October 14.”

Speaking on how everyone in the salon is feeling, Cathy said staff will definitely be worried. She said: “Staff love to be by the front desk having a little chit-chat; I am sure they won’t want to be there now.”

Surrey Police said at the time of the incident: “We were called at around 3pm yesterday afternoon (7 October), following a report of a car reversing into the window of The Glass House Hair and Beauty in Virginia Water.

“The driver, a woman in her 70s, fortunately, did not suffer any injuries and no one was present in the shop at the time.”
